Before you hire a personal injury attorney do these seven things.
1. Research their reputation, reputation does matter, especially in the law.
2. Are their former clients raving fans? If so, you are onto something.
3. Do they ask you to pay anything up front? If the lawyer asks for money up front, this is a big warning sign.
4. Does the attorney care about his or her clients. You will be able to tell if the attorney really cares. Make sure they do.
5. Do they give you a written agreement for review without pressure? If the attorney does not give you a written contingency fee agreement, you should be very concerned.
6. Will the attorney "carve-out" your existing offer from calculation in his or her attorney fee, in most instances if you request so clearly an attorney will do this and it SHOULD BE reflected in the contingency agreement.
7. Does the attorney have a great team surrounding him or her. Face it, we are only as good as our team. Solo acts are more prone to missing the boat.
